XO, Kitty Season 2: Latest News, Cast, and Everything Else to Know

We're still thinking about that last scene in Season 1

Rejoice, fans of To All The Boys and the Jenny Han universe. Netflix's XO, Kitty has been renewed for a second season! The spin-off series following Anna Cathcart's Kitty Song-Covey was an instant hit and became the second-most watched English language TV series on Netflix in its debut week.

It only makes sense for the show to return for a second season. After all, so much is up in the air after Kitty broke up with Dae (Minyeong Choi) — her long-distance boyfriend whom she had flown around the world to spend a school year with — in the Season 1 finale. Kitty is coming to terms with her feelings for KISS's It Girl Yuri (Gia Kim) and, in the last moments of the season, also hears a confession from enemy-turned-friend Minho (Sang Heon Lee). Plenty of possibilities await Kitty when it comes to love.

And that's not to mention her recent expulsion. After the school found out that Kitty broke the rules to live in the boys' dorm this semester, she was expelled. XO, Kitty ends with her leaving KISS and boarding a plane back to the U.S. But this can't possibly be where the story ends, right? Since Yuri gives a call to her mom, Principal Lim (Yunjin Kim), to ask her to revoke the expulsion, it's likely that Kitty hasn't seen the last of Seoul just yet.

Here's everything we know so far about XO, Kitty Season 2.

XO, Kitty latest news

On June 14, Netflix announced that XO, Kitty has been renewed for a second season. We can't wait to head back to KISS ASAP!

XO, Kitty Season 2 cast

We're expecting many of the same cast members to return for Season 2. The cast includes:

XO, Kitty Season 1 ending

We talked to the XO, Kitty cast about the final moments of Season 1. To start, that goodbye between Kitty and Dae was just way too heartbreaking — even if we knew their relationship was going nowhere. "I kind of felt like Dae wanted to hold her, so he ran to the airport," Minyeong Choi told TV Guide. "But after he hears what she thinks about [the relationship], he just doesn't try anymore." In that exchange, Kitty was the first to speak and expressed that she wanted to officially end things with Dae. But according to Choi, that's not what his character had in mind upon arriving at the airport. Nevertheless, Dae agreed with Kitty, and the two thanked each other for being their first love. "He thinks that's the way to love her, which is sad," Choi said. "It is sad that the only way that he could love her is to let her go."

But shortly after Kitty ended this chapter with Dae, a new one seemed to open. And it wasn't with Yuri, whom our main character developed feelings for over the course of this season. Instead, when Kitty settled into her plane seat, she found none other than Minho sitting next to her. Minho had purposefully arranged to accompany Kitty on her flight back and confessed his feelings to her.

"The fact that he managed to sit in a coach, economy seat in the plane, and taking his time to be there next to Kitty is something else," Sang Heon Lee told TV Guide. "Going through flight tickets, making sure everything's all right. It's mad. I would say he's still in love with her." It's safe to assume that Season 2 will explore more of this enemies-to-potential-lovers storyline.
